Children’s Bicycle, 1870

47" H x 48"L

A wonderful and rare children’s bicycle from the 1870s. The classic highwheel was patented in 1870 and was popular for approximately 20 years before giving way to the bicycle as we know it now. This model, also known as the “boneshaker” (those were the days of truth in advertisement) was most likely produced by the Otto Bike Manufacturing Company and retains its original frame wheels and is exceptionally well preserved throughout.
